Making a shark ball and cup game
CSMA club set me a challenge this week to play a new game. In our house, we love playing games and we have too many to mention. We also love making our own games. This means we have lots of fun making them, followed by hours of fun playing with it….and the bonus is, it’s FREE! Here’s how we made a shark ball and cup game……
How to make a ball and cup game
You need:
- An empty drinks bottle
- String
- A ball, or screwed up foil, or we used a yoyo
- Scissors
- Paper
- Glue or double sided tape
First, cut the end off the bottle and cut it into a mouth shape.
Next, decorate the lidded end of the bottle, however you like. We chose to make them into sharks. We fan folded a strip of paper to cut out teeth and used double sided tape to stick them on the bottle for the mouth. Then stick some eyes on too.
Make a hole in the lid, thread the string through and attach it to the ball or ball of foil. Screw the lid back on the bottle and there you have your shark ball and cup game to have fun with!
The aim of the game is to catch the ball in the sharks mouth (the cup). The person who catches it the most wins.
We then spent a long time trying to catch the ball in the cup/sharks mouth. The whole family had a go even Nana and Grandad joined in the fun. 
Everyone was so pleased with themselves when they caught the ball in the sharks mouth as you can see from the photos.
With practice everyone improved, but I think the winner has to be Grandad, he scored/caught the ball the most!
One of the great things about this game, is that any number of people can play it. You can play on your own or you can have competitions between friends or family and have a good laugh in the process.
