A day at Coombemill
Last week we have been very fortunate to have a holiday in Cornwall, staying at the wonderful Coombemill farm. We have had a wonderful time and spent several days out to various places including The Eden project, Tintagel castle, Boscastle and the beach. However, there is so much to do on Coombemill farm itself, we also spent a day without going anywhere. Here is our day on the farm…..
The feed run
The children get to see and hold gorgeous little chicks, catch and feed bigger chicks and then feed and catch big chickens whilst hunting for eggs. Throughout the week my children got more and more confidence with the animals, it was wonderful to watch. At the start of the week, they couldn’t catch a chicken, but by the last day, BB caught 15!! And they LOVED it! They were so pleased with themselves with each achievement!
Next we fed the pig, followed by the goats which the kids loved, especially the baby goats as they were so cute!
We also loved feeding the donkeys and the sheep, but one of the highlights has to be seeing the deer. It was fantastic to see all the deer running past you.
Then last of all, but definitely my children’s favourite (especially Pinky) were the rabbits! They totally loved them. I think we are going to have a hard job telling them they may not have one as a pet!
Apart from the fantastic animals, there are also some fab play grounds to play in. BB found his favourite part straight away….the old tractor, he spent ages on there pretending to do tractor rides for everyone! Pinky and Boo especially loved the zip wire and slide.
We also had a great time on the pirate ship, the trampolines, the stream and lots of muddy puddles!
On the last day the children also took part in an activity where they collected leaves and flowers etc from around the farm and made them into a bow and arrow and a collage picture. BB loved making the bow and arrow with daddy whilst Pinky and Boo enjoyed making collages. Pinky did a rabbit, while Boo did a garden. I think they all looked really good and they definitely enjoyed it!
Then of course there is the fantastic train ride they enjoyed every night……
We all had a wonderful time on the farm, there is so much to, I think we could have spent the whole week on the farm without going out anywhere, I would highly recommend it!
