Reindeer Family Fingerprint Christmas Cards

Every year I like to make my own christmas cards. Up until now it has usually involved a photo of the children like I did last year. However, as my children are getting older, I thought it would be nice for us all to make the cards together. We needed a simple design, as the kids would start to get a bit fed up by card number 10, let alone 20! Hence I decided on fingerprint cards. Here’s what we did…

Reindeer Family Fingerprint Christmas Cards You Will Need:

• Cards
• Brown ink pad (or paint)
• Red ink pad (or paint)
• Black ink pad (or paint)
• Cotton buds
• Black pen
• Decorative tape (optional)
• Happy christmas stickers (optional)
• Christmas confetti (optional)
• Glue

First of all each member of the family fingerprinted brown prints on each card. It is then advisable to let it dry, we didn’t at first and ended up with a few smudges.

Next use a cotton bud tip and spot a nose on each reindeer. Everyone did their own and daddy wanted to be Rudolf so he used red.

Then each of us drew our own eyes, mouth and antlers on. It is interesting, if you know all of us, you can almost see who’s reindeer is who by how it’s been drawn.

To add a little more to the card, I stuck a strip of decorative tape across the bottom, followed by a peel off sticker of happy christmas and a couple of confetti snowflakes. This is optional, you could leave the card simple with just the reindeer family.

I absolutely love these cards, they are so personalised, with every member of the family having an input, spreading the Christmas love. We also had a lot of fun making them, though I must admit, by number 20, the kids had had enough.
