Getting on with our summer bucket list
We have been so busy enjoying our summer of fun these last few weeks, we have been pouring through our summer bucket list. I thought I’d write a quick update of how we are getting on as I like reminding myself how much we don and how much fun we have together.
- Visit a farm
- Simple science experiments – We have started these, but I want to do a few, so we still have more to do.
Swimming– We have been swimming in the paddling pool, the sea, the swimming pool, almost everywhere and the kids have loved it!!!! Water play in the garden– We’ve had the paddling pool out, we made a waterfall wall and have been spraying each other with water. Make a water fall wall outside– we loved making this. Decorate our new den– The children have loved painting their den, making bunting and a mobile for it. Cycling– Boo has had her first bike ride on 2 wheels!
- Bug hunt
Forest walks/nature walks– Last week whilst in the New Forest we had a lovely day at Moors Valley Country Park and enjoyed the play trail in the forest. Visit the beach– Last week we had a couple of days at the beach and we all had a wonderful time! BBQ with friends
- Crafting with nature
- Messy play
- Junk modelling
- Ball games
Picnic– We have had many picnics over the last few weeks!
Go on a boat– The children all had a lot of fun splashing about in a dinghy last week
- Train ride
- Bus ride
- Have a day trip to London
Playdoh– We made lavender play dough last week and really loved it, I can’t believe I haven’t made this before! (Post to follow) Painting– today we got the paints out for a lovely painting session together (post to follow)
So all in all I think we are doing well, 12 out of 25 of our summer bucket list crossed off, only a few weeks into it and I know we will cross more off including the farm visit next week, as we are going to have a fab week at Coombemill. We are very much looking forward to that!
In terms of our 5 summer goals, we are not doing quite as well, the bathroom is still not totally finished and I have only been out for a run once. I suppose the other goals are ok, we are spending a lot of time outside together having fun, we have finished the kids den and we are working through our bucket list.
I do like having this list to refer back to for ideas and to keep a record of what we get up to, it makes you realise just how much fun we are having!
